Mounting Fuel Pump Question
Slater - 9/6/08 at 11:10 AM

Some advice needed......
How do you mount this this pump to the chassis?

Where is the best place to mount - near fuel tank or near the ZZR bike carbs?

Cheers
Keith.

Cant really see it makes much difference as to where you locate it...

But make sure you dont mount it rigidly...Pumps dont like a lot of vibration!

an exhaust clamp and wrap the pump body in pushbike innertube to mount it.

That looks a bit like the pump I had on an old Subaru pickup I had once, they have a bracket on the ring in the middle! If you give me some dimensions of the fixing hole sizes and centres I could probably knock you up a bracket on the punching machines we have here at work. If you have a drawing or some idea of what you want that would help as well. U2U me if you want something made.

The black bit at the top is rubber, so I was thinking some kind of jubilee/exhaust clamp round that to damp out the vibration and somehow fixing the clamp to the chassis.

Does anyone have any pics of how you have mounted your pumps?

Hi

There is some mileage in mounting it a close to the engine as possible as this will reduce the length of pressurised pipeline which could be subject to failure, but wherever you mount it heed the advice above to cushion the mounting.
