Would this be OK?....using a standard high pressure in-tank pump within a swirl pot? Obviously the swirl pot doesn't exist yet so I'd have
to design it to suit.

Paul, yes sort of....I was wanting to put my high pressure pump within a seperate swirl pot in the engine bay rather than within the tank.
Basically I'm going to have a mini fuel system complete in the engine bay that is fed at low pressure from the main tank. I think the difference
is that the high pressure pump is usually outside the swirl pot.
Hope that clarifies my question a bit.

Gotcha, cant see any reason why the pump cant be fitted in a swirl pot of suitable design as it would within a fuel tank then - so long as the low pressure side is sufficient to keep the swirl pot filled your plan sounds fine to me.
Ok, i'll ask, why?. Can you not simplify your setup and have the inj pump in the main tank
Wouldn't do it, on the stylus forum there's one that has fried 3 pumps already and probably because of the temperature in the engine bay en less fuel to cool it.

I've got my high pressure pump external to the tank and I would not do it this way again. You need low pressure pumps to feed the swirl pot (I
had to use 2 to get the flow right) and the plumbing and electrics are more complex, heavy and expencive.
Pump in the tank seems to be the way to go to me and I'd gladly sell or swap my Bosch 044 and twin Facet red top setup for an in tank pump.
Thanks guys good input. My reason for even considering it is that my tank is fairly tall. However I guess I could extend the pump bracket, piping and wiring so that it reaches closer to the bottom.....I suppose that would work Ok?
