So I've bitten the bullet and take the carbs off my Zetec engined Phoenix and started the process of converting to Suzuki GSXR-1000 TBs.
I'm going to have lots of questions (!)
So ....is it OK to locate the HP pump, swirl-pot in the engine bay ? Ths would reduce the HP fuel line run but is there any down side ?
Are there any diagrams or docs around showing the layout of the fuel lines for this ? Anyone got a wiring diagram for the Suzuki TBs ?

Yes - my filter and pump are mounted just infront of the pedal box.
Swirl pot is mounted on the Side Pod....

here's a pic from the trial install. Only things missing are the feeds to/from petrol tank and from the regulator back to the swirlpot

Having the swirl pot etc. in the engine bay is fine. We have a similar arrangement in our ongoing Phoenix build. We are using the standard Fireblade
fuel pump in the bottom of a small auxiliary tank, mounted just ahead of the engine. This tank is pump fed from the main tank.
Consider some form of cutoff for the HP pump in case of accident. Inertia switch maybe?

I notice that people are changing the fuel rail on the injectors...any particular reason for this ?

Ahh...OK, the TB's I have already have respaced fuel rail using the stock parts. I bought this off ebay already spaced on a manifold.
First problem has arisen....
The throttle hits the alternator when the TBs are on the car...
I can either extend the connecting pipes (silicon) which will allow the TBs to clear the alternator. The problem then is that the TBs will be
supported by the hose rather an butted up against the manifold. The hose will have to be approx 25mm longer to clear the alternator. ....
or
Fit a smaller alternator, I think the one on there at the moment is a standard mondeo one rather than these light weight units. The fitting lugs are
at 120 deg to each other rather than 180 on the smaller units. Problem is that I don't know if the pulley will fit.
The hose is the cheapest option.

Extend the hose but make some additional brackets to support the throttles. They'll flap about too much just supported by hose, and most likely pop off.

Will silicon hose be OK or do I need fuel hose?
Normal silicone hose isn't fuel resistant and will soften over time. Ideally it needs to be flouro-lined (££££).
I've used radiator hose, probably just as bad but much much cheaper
