Firstly, will Megasquirt 2 V3.0 work with EDIS straight away or will I need to make any internal mods?
Secondly, is there any awesome person who'd want to come over and help me finish my wiring up? I just can't get my head around it. So far
I've got my TPS sensor working, engine turns over, got my trigger wheel and sensor installed, new ignition leads have been made and fitted.
I've got the laptop communicating with megasquirt. I don't know how to wire up the fuel pump relay and how to power EDIS. Diagrams and
explanations on the net go straight through me, if someone was there and explained it to me I'd get it I'm so close to starting her up,
halp!

If I were closer I'd be happy to help, best thing to do is take your time, work logically through the diagrams one connection at a time. Draw
out your individual componnets and their connections, terminal numbers, wire colours etc. Then as you connect things up tick them off on your
drawing.
Keep the wires going to each set of terminals or multiplug the same length so as not to have bunches of wire in your loom. Tape the loom at each end
and at about 300mm intervals so you can trace things if needs be.
Another thing you can do is keep the circuits in seperate looms, e.g. Ignition, Injection, Lighting, Charging etc. Doesn't look as neat as a
single loom but easier when you're diagnosing problems.
Look in my archive under wiring, for a list of the BSAU wire colours fo various functions if you're starting from scratch.

As I understand it - Ms1 needs internal mod's , but Ms2 can be set to work with Edis just with a setting's change .

Don't want to offend but if you think MS is plug and play then your going to be very disappointed. Read read read is the order of the day and sift out the old info from the new. Ask questions and read more.
Just read this on megasquirt site. I guess I'll have to open it up ^__^

This site is becoming more like a lesson in english/grammar lately.
To confirm, you do need to do internal mods for MSII (are you using extra?)......There are two ways to do it depending that utalise the opto coupler
in different ways.....My suggestion is to use this one:
* DB37 pin #36 to the SAW pin (#3) on the ignition module
* DB37 pin #24 to the PIP pin (#1) on the ignition module
* On the V3.0 main board:
o use the 'Hall sensor circuit' (step #50.a in the assembly guide) - jumper D1 and D2,
o jumper OPTOIN to TACHSELECT on the bottom side of the PCB, near the DB37 connector, opposite the heat sink,
o jumper TSEL to OPTOUT on the bottom side of the PCB, near the center.
* jumper JS10 to IGN (this uses the processor port for the SAW signal directly),
* jumper XG1 to XG2 on the bottom side of the PCB, near the 40 pin socket,
You also need to configure EDIS in the software....
Don't be too worried about opening it up, but use ESD precautions.......The mods are simple.
