Widening Wheels...

I'm using a Triumph Rocket swing-arm and bevel-box on my trike, but would like a slightly wider wheel than the OEM Triumph offering (it's 7.5" and I'd like 10" ). No-one offers an off-the-shelf wide wheel, and the hub to bevel-box design is too complicated to get one specially made (without spending an absolute fortune).

So what say you... Yay... or Nay... and Why!

PS - if Nay... then how about machining the rims back to leave the hub and centre, then fitting ali split-rim outers / inners?

Force Racing may be able to do something with your wheel.

Are they steels? you could try banding.

I think the Razor has a 10" rear wheel.

Cheers... unfortunately they need to have a Triumph Rocket shaped hub, so it's unlikely. Off to look at their website anyway though!

I would say a custom made centre made from billet and then bolt on rims like a 3 piece wheel.
Is this for the rear wheel(s)?
Or locate a bike that uses the 10" rim (got to be US market) and look into machining the spoke section out on both wheels and bolt through the 10" rim into the Rocket spoke section. Trouble is you really need to see both wheels and take measurements to check there is machining allowance.
When at Dymag we did make a 18" x 9" rim for the Confederate bike. The rim being bolted (using 6 x 8mm bolts) onto a 3 spoke magnesium centre..

It may be a bit of an obvious question, but can you get a suitable profiled tyre for a 10" rim in the diamater you want?
