anyone had either good or bad experiences with alternatives. i see on ebay there are a lot of unbranded action cams around
has anyone tried one?
thanks
I have an SJCAM M10, the little cube type one. It cost me about £30. So far I have only had a small play about with it, but I am bloody impressed with
it for the money.
I've never used a GoPro so can't compare, but I would certainly recommend the M10.
SJCAM SJ4000. It looks very similar to a GoPro. And if you read some of the online review it scores highly against it too.
I like it so much I have three! They make great dash cams and also great cameras for blatting in the kit car as I can turn it on and off remotely by
turning the power feed to it on and off from a switch on the centre console.
I got an SJCAM SJ4000 for a recent European road trip and it was spot on. From what I understand the SJ is the best GOPro copy. With the other non branded ones you'll probably be taking a risk and may end up buying twice. SJ was less than £70 with every extra including carry case, spare batteries, chargers, memory cards etc etc.

?
I've got an SJ also. Love it. Got to fiddle with the white balance but otherwise spot on.
SJ 5000 wifi, fantastic piece of kit.
Different chip to the 4000 series which gives a slightly crisper image at high speed
SJ6000 here, very good as above just tweak the light settings, plenty of advice on the Internet.
Used GoPro is a good option. I love mine

Another vote for SJ4000 wifi. I can't really fault it.
Just be careful geting an SJ model, there are lots of fake ones.
Ive also heard good things about the Mobious cameras.
Also, if you want something new/clever/gimicy, the Samsung Gear 360 looks superb, and reasonably priced for what it is.
thanks for all the replys, the sjcam does look to get good reviews. i have see i lot of the fake ones on ebay, and the feeback refelcts the problems
customers have had.
Does anyone have a link or a company name they brought theirs from?
I use the Garmin Virb, has built in GPS also for those all important overlays.
Can't recommend this enough, SJ4000 with a different cover but from Hobbyking so you can guarantee its not a fake SJ Camera

The speed on the overlay doesn't seem very accurate on that, when you're holding a steady speed round a corner it seems about 10mph+ out?
Or is your dash speedo not calibrated right?
Be interesting to see what it says when you are sat at a constant speed
I use a gopro hero3 silver, but will be buying an SJcam next, purely because of the price.
Watch some videos on youtube that compare the two and then tell me the gopro is worth 3 times the SJ
Drift HD all the way for me.
Have had mine underwater and in some pretty rugged places and its great.
I use a Mobius ActionCam, does the job for a very reasonable price. Hasn't had a hardware update in
a while though so its max resolution/fps of 1080P30 and 720P60 are starting to look a little out of date.
hope that helps
John
