Total kit car dot com have a small feature this week about a new tyre from Kumho, a 385/15/22. Can anyone beat a 15 profile tyre?
Totally useless on a real life road though. One pot hole and that's the wheel wrecked. I've gone back to normal tyres on my cars. Can't
stand lowprofiles now, noisy and very very uncomfortable.

Sounds a bit mad to me. This site has some interesting comments to make.

Anyone got coloured smoke and aroma tryes on their cars?

Congratulations, I hope you're both very happy together. Which one of you is now gonna start building the BEC??
Phil
I think there's always been a bit of a hint in Benzine's avatar!! Ok so he has flowers for the BEC but a big greasy half naked man for CEC. Given the choice I'd take the flowers.
That's not grease, that's manly sweat!

I can't decide if that's even worse!!
oh gets worse than than low profile, the kids with volkswagens now think its cool to put a narrow low profile tyre on a wide rim
Is it just me or does anyone else share the daft idea that tyres are the only contact you have with the road and shouldnt be messed around with. I
would have thought the manufacturers of higher performance cars spend thousands road testing to determine optimum brand and tyre type for their set
up.
That Dub defies belief.

I have had no problems running stretched tyres. Been running them for about 5 years now and passed every mot and inspection, no problem with handling or tyre wear or performance. I just like the way it looks everyone has a difference in taste though.

I think its more down to an opinion when its looked into. There are a lot of cars running stretched tyres in the UK and there is a lot of debate over
the safety and legality of them but other than tyre manufactuers guidelines with tyre/rim width suitabilty (which goes against the stretch look) there
doesn't seem to be anything specific relating to it. I have to say, that mk2 in the picture is pretty excessive with the stretch and personally
wouldn't go that far with it or do anything I felt unsafe doing it and other than a defective tyre I once I had I have had no problems with
it.
The insurance forms ask for rim width and tyre sizes but its never been brought up as a problem.
