Anyone used these guys ?

http://www.altiss.com/

They do bike carbs to car engine manifolds from £180 which is what i'm interested in.

I was going to ask the same question after reading about them in PPC.....

Nice set of 42mm BB carbs waiting to mate with my XE.

Only issue I have is who can jet the carbs ? I live 100's of miles from Bogg Bros...

there's an article in this months PPC mag on bike carbs and Altiss manifolds. From the picss the ali welding looks good, but it would be wouldn't it. However if your using a Zetec, then the stub manifold from a ST170 Duratec (zetec in disguise) will fit Suzuki bodies straight out of the box. According to PPC at least.

When i bought my 2nd hand kit it came with 2 litre Zetec and ZX9R carbs so i may aswell use them.

All they require are the carbs and the inlet manifold gasket in order to make the manifold.

i was thinking about this too, using some bike throttle bodies. i recon you could make a manifold yourself quite easily. there is some ally welding stuff that has been mentioned before that you can use with a blow torch with good results, can't remember what it's called but someone must remember. then its only a matter of sourcing some thick ally plate and relative sized tubes and make the head plate from an inlet gasket as a template and match it to the head, then cut the tubes to fit and voila (easy as that he says!).

Ned.

Absolutely Dave!!!!! ya got my vote!
(I take it ya 'lurgy' has got up and gone)?

So, we will be seeing your manifold for bike carbs soon Ned???

StuartAinslie; If you ring around quite a few bike tuning firms have car rolling roads.... Rescued attachment Finished Manifiold 3 vvsml.jpg

You answered the post before I made it!!!

Yes the lurgy has nearly gone, that was one mean lurgy!!!!, could be there Sunday

donut - 1/9/05 at 06:29 PM

Credit where credit is due Dave....... BUT!! you can't take credit for me going this route as the kit came with the engine and carbs and the chap was going to di it to his engine

Make sure you go Sunday so i can have a peep at your setup.

i have enough thick plate and tube for 2 manifolds i may be willing to part with one lot for the right price i will be making a manifold for my gsxr 750's to ecotec

donut - 1/9/05 at 07:08 PM

Didn't really consider a bike RR company, thought they would only have a bike dyno. I'll have to have a look in the big yellow book and see what is in my neck of the woods..

ned - 1/9/05 at 08:25 PM

if i did make a manifold it would be for bike throttle bodies and would likely be fitted toa peugeot 106 i already have very expensive direct to head jenvey bodies for my vauxhall engine

Surrey Dave - 1/9/05 at 09:24 PM

Snob!!

same here Ned, Jenveys too!!

(only cos a mate had a full setup which happened to include an MBE 956E ecu which would accept my existing XE map as a direct swap onto it!!)

the ally welding stuff is Techno-Weld.

I have some and it is good for some things but a manifold would be very tricky.

It is great for building up/repairing ally castings though, and I used it to build up a boss on an ally rad to drill and tap for a bleed screw. great for that sort of thing but not so handy for actual welding. Much easier to find someone with an AC Tig!

Hi Guys

Excuse the ignorance but what's PPC magazine? Could somebody scan the article?

If I don't sell my complete Zetec, I'm going to throttle bodies and need to weigh up the options!

Wyn

ppc is practical performance car. get into your decent local new agents early in the month to get a copy, or better sill subscribe.

Hi guys

I can't seem to get a copy anywhere - could somebody copy the article on building your own fuel injection?

Regards

Wyn

i have a scanner and a full set of ppc
u2u me I scan engineering drawings every day in work, does come in useful sometimes
