Ok guys, here's the deal, im thinking of getting a 3.2 V6 Fronter LWB when I finish uni for the summer. preferably a 2000 but any between 1998
and 2000 will do (for tax purposes). I plan to run it on LPG so running costs aren't too much of an issue. Basically I'd like to hear from
anyone who has any experience of the frontera. What are they like to own? etc...

early ones gave them a bad name, later models are ok from what my brother (whos works for vauxhall) tell me.

Not strictly the same car. The same would be evident with most, if not all, of the far-eastern clones. They buy the tooling but the materials and assembly are not necessarily the same. 4x4s generally come out bad in the safety stakes but I wouldn't fancy being in any car for that particular test!
That landwind video looks awful...the way the steering column comes up under the drives chin and snaps the head back. I'm sure I read that the
NCAP tester said he would have given it -1 if he could. The later fronteras got 5stars according to parkers.

go to my other favorite owners club - www.hiluxsurf.co.uk - and ask them!
for the same sort of money and purpose a decent import hilux surf is the best bet. really easy to work on, reliable, good handling and equipment, and
great offroad.
won't break down like a landrover.

the shogun is the best I've driven so far, very good value for money, heaps of extras, fast and a strong car.
Only down side is the fuel costs on the bigger engined ones, I used £50 in 3 days just going to work, my Bluebird doing the same would have used about
£20 so that is a huge difference.
