Getting started with Megasquirt

I have a MS V1 2.2 which is fuel only. At the moment I am running on carbs with megajolt. If I am to use the MS, can I use the same VR sensor for both units? or would the wiring cause interfierence? At the moment I am working on the intake manifold, can anyone recommend an external fuel pump? I am using bike TB's and are of a honda fireblade I believe.

What needs to be done to get the MS to work with spark? is it just a firmware upgrade or do I need more hardware?

You can you the tacho output from the MJ to supply the MS.

Or of course mod the MS to do spark as well - firmware update and some very minor hardware changes to run ignition using an EDIS. All you need to know here.

My car is set up like that at present, the megasquirt can be converted to use the existing edis set up and replace the Megajolt, but it is then more work to add a sequential shift light and extra outputs that are already available on the megajolt.
The down side is that it is more convenient when tuning to have fuel and ignition setting available on the one screen and not to have to swap the laptoplead from one ECU to the other .

Hi Paul, so what you have done is take the reading of the SAW signal or RPM from the tach?
Where did you get the sensors from? Or could you use any type from any vehicle?
