Editing ms log files

I am trying to take a couple of eronious data points out of my datalog from today, but whatever format I save it in I seem to get an error when I open it in megalog viewer, usually to do with the TPS calculated field. The original log opens fine.

Any ideas?

r u running it so that MS shows TP ADC? make sure that in megalog viewer you put the calculated field to TP ADC & then go options, y axis field ->TP ADC,

make sure you click enable large memory as well and set your lamdba sensor

what i did was open a blank Megalog viewer page and then change all the settings to how i want them, then go to file -> settings -> export settings and save the file wherever, then when i open Megalog viewer again i just import the settings file.

Yes, it works fine on the datalg before i modify it and has been working ok for ages. I just cant find a file format to save it in that will open without throwing up an error.

If I save it as a .csv, tab delimited with " seperators (i.e. in exactly the format MS logs in) it still will no open. It just says error calculating tps field, although all of the fields in the file are fine.

I just want to take one log point out as its messed up the whole tps calculation for the rest of the file.

Answered my own question, you MUST modify the file in notepad, not excel, even though its an xls file!

The fact that the log files have an XLS extension is very poor programming IMO, as it's a CSV file, not an Excel file. Excel will happily open CSV files so there is no good reason to for the log software to give it the wrong extension.
