Erratic RPM...megasquirt to blame?
The MS manuals website is down which is a pain....
Could my problems CLICKY be something to do with a MS component which needs
changing?
I am triggering from the neg side of the coil and once over 3500rpm i start getting very erratic RPM readings and misfires.
I did always have erratic readings all the way through the rev range, but I fixed this with a new rotor arm in the dizzy. I dont know where else to
look now.

Managed to get the site working as soon as I posted this!
Looks like replacing D2 zener with a higher voltage one or adding another zener in the coil trigger line could help. Or increasing the ED Capacitor
(C12) from 0.001micro F anything up to 0.1micro F would also help.
I'll try it when I get back from holiday (or maybe tomorrow afternoon before I go. Think I have some zeners and caps which will work.
Its unfortunate as I know I had a problem before MS, I dont know whether theres still another problem or if the MS is to blame now!

if you had the problem before you installed the MS surely you can rule out the MS
where you off on holiday mate?

I did have a problem, which was a loose rotor arm in the dizzy, which is now fixed. What I dont know is if this was masking an underlying problem with
the MS....
Off to the scottish highlands to relax and have a blast around the lovely roads!

Nope taking the mini.
Couldnt bear to drive the GTS with this problem all the way to scotland! Once you are at 70mph or more its a nightmare!

I hate to say it but I will.
Told you so.
There is a resistor that can be bridged and some links to play with before you start to change componants.
Just keep playing until the datalogs are clean.

Thanks Mark
If you floor it its not too bad, still a bit of a problem though. It is absolutely predictable where the problems start though....
What resistors/links? I dont want to blow something up!
Cheers,

Floor it, enrichments take over and give it an extra squirt, when mine was odd I could drive it by constantly waggling the throttle, running on the
acceleration enrichment to get home.
When built there is a resistor you bridge with a bit of wire also some other bits to play with, try here
When running on my Rv8 was fine, stuck on the coil packs with my blade engine then and spent a fair bit of time swapping things about until everything
was good.
I do not think there is a rule just experimentation, I tried extracting a pickup from the coil packs, then from the bikes ECU tach output, shielded
wires definately helped BTW.
Very annoying that is for sure, mine started and drove fine then just went bonkers after a while.

If you're still using a dizzy for spark, you have checked the points gap and condensor, haven't you?
Or is the spark electronic?

Have you got anything to take separate RPM readings from? Timing strobe etc?

Its an electronic dizzy!
Its hard to take readings with a strobe or anything as you need to be at over 3500rpm for a few seconds before the problem starts.
Both megalog and my dash are reporting unusual RPM happenings.
I have posted my question over on the MS forums too to see if anyone has some suggestions.
