Boost Control (megasquirt)
I am look to use Boost Control for my turbo. Does anyone know what car I could get a boost control valve from (new or used), also where can I get the
IRLZ44 Transistor.

Subaru impreza, Escort RS Turbo, Cosworth, and pretty much any other factory turbo car will have a boost control valve you can use. Mine is from a
sierra cossie. Sometimes called an Amal valve.

Do you have to have one or two pipes on waist gate actuator.

You can do it with a single pipe actuator but for more precise control a dual port wastegate is best, as you control how much pressure is fed to
either side of the diaphragm. It will also allow you to use a fairly light spring and still run large boost levels.

Just remember that the size (actually volume) of the tubing to and from the boost controller has a big impact on boost creep and spiking. The larger
the tubing the faster the turbo will spool up but you might get boost spikes larger than wanted.
In other words a big volume in the boost controller system delays wastegate opening but making the volume too big can cause the wastegate to open too
late causing overboosting until the wastegate catches up (a situation seldom found in OEM cars). A small volume can make the wastegate start opening
too earlier causing the turbo to take longer to reach peak boost but you get really good control over peak boost level (this is preferred by OEM
manufacturers as its mechanically safer).

I was going to use the single pipe waste gate on the TD04 turbo.
Thanks for your help got the IRLZ44 Transistor and RS.
Now of to the scrap yard for solenoid.
