Ford Fuel Rail??

Excuse me peeps, I have strange diaphragm type thingy on my fuel rail, it doesnt restrict fuel or protrude into the rail but I would like to know what its is....

I was thinking of flattening the end and soldering it up as I do not want fuel squirting out of the little bugger.

Ta,
Steve

Don't think so as its in the middle of the rail and the outlet there is quite small.

Focus it came off has intelligent variable fuel pump that doesn't need a regulator.. end of the rail had a sensor on it, now with barbed outlet

Looks like it is a pulse damper, the outlet is really a only vacuum connection.
A lot of recent tintops now have the pressure regulator in tank and the main control of the fuel pressure is electronic control of the fuel pump speed.

Can't it be replaced by a fuel pressure regulator? No need to plumb a seperate one in then.

Thanks, fettled it now, 20 seconds with the mig...

I'd already put a return on the end of the rail and sorted the regulator forgetting about, so, now its redundant and no longer a worry.

Why aren't you using the throttle body injectors and fuel rail? Just curious.

Front rail is the original ST170 injectors, I spent ages getting them to the same position.. TB injectors may be used for top end wooooooooooosh...

Sorry to jump in, but a 2.0L mondeo rail fits nicely and comes with a pressure regulator.
