Bending straight fuel hose

I was on the lookout for some 45mm id fuel hose and i found some the other day on fleabay and it arrived yesterday only for me to realise it wasnt properly flexible.

Is there any way to bend it and make it keep its shape? Maybe with some heat?

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

depends on what it is made of.

if plastic, then put into pot of boiling water and shape. doubt that would work since you probably have rubber hose with cloth reinforcement.

you can buy hose formers - a spiral of wire with a metal strip running along the length that you put over the hose and then bend. the strip keeps the shape and the wire kinda stops it collapsing.

there is anther type thay you put inside the tube that works in same way to stop collapsementation.

ideally, you should look for a length of hose the correct shape or use two pieces and an alloy joiner.

What about a coil spring down the middle of it like the thing you get in a vacuum cleaner hose? (not that I've ever seen a vacuum cleaner)
