EFI manifold Follow up query...
Hi,
Firstly, thanks for all the help so far - I had the engine running for the 1st time - oddly enough my wife wasn't as exicted as me (but then she
is a chicken to my pig)....
I do have a couple of extra queries now I have seen it run.
On the bottom right of the inlet or injection manifold is an outlet which is part of the vacumn system as far as I can tell.. However, when I put my
finger over it the engine dies.
Can anyone tell me what it is and what to do with it...
Thanks
Frank

sounds like its either the servo or vac advance take off.
If the engine dies when its closed, then either, that is the only source of air your engine is getting, you need to open the butterflies a little, and
blank it. Or, you are way too rich on the mixture and the additional air from that union is compensating.

have you a photo? if its bottom right of the injector sandwich plate sounds like the crankcase breather connection?
what ECU are you running, are you using the standard idle valve, if this is not working the air being taken in via the open pipe could be
compensating?

Yep thats for the exhaust gas setup.
If it dies when you block it of it sounds like the idle valve isnt working or the ecu is already compensating for it.
Block it of and disconect the ecu then restart.
Is it the ford ecu you are using ? They have a self learning ability within its limits.
