Fuel Injector rail sealant

Hi,
I have just removed the fuel injector rail on my zetec engine. I notive some black rubber sealent on the engine input end.

Is this anything special or something like wellseal?

No sealant is nomally used, just rubber o rings to seal.

None of the three I've had, had any sealant, as above, just tight push fit with O rings.

I normally put a little copper grease (i think it is) on the o rings to help them slip in but other than that, nothing
