It didn't start first time

I've been converting my RV8 from carbs to full EDIS-8 Megasquirt. It's been off the road since November and tonight was the night. It didn't work. I'm not overly surprised though as I think the battery is somewhat flat as the ECU dropped out on cranking which my Elise used to do if I left it for a few weeks. Oh well, I've put it on charge and I'll have another play in the week.

Just a thought - make sure the ecu supply is connected to a Live that remains live when cranking. Just been doing some wiring on mine and almost made the mistake of using a live supply from the ignition switch that cuts out during cranking.

Hope its starts next time

Paul

running about two weeks behind you in tring to start mine.

Exciting times.

Make sure you turn logging on then you next try.

I just swapped my engine over, but have a couple of wires to connect before seeing if it works.

I think I might have made a comedy schoolboy error. In bed last night I realised that I may have connected the +12 for the EDIS module to the feed coming off the fuel pump relay. FPR is not energised unless MS sees the engine turning. MS won't see the engine turning until EDIS is alive. EDIS comes alive when FPR is energised......

I've made an even better comedy error than the one I postulated above. The EDIS module did have a correct +12v feed, but it might help if I gave the coil packs +12v as well instead of leaving the wires unconnected

More chance of a spark once that's fixed
