Fuel Tank Woes
Well... I thought I was going to make things easier when i decided to use a Subaru in tank fuel pump... The problem is that I have had problems
setting the fuel pressure at the rail.. It turns out that the Subaru fuel pump assy has a 'jet pump' that transfers fuel from one side of
the tank to another.. I have three fittings on the top of the tank...
1. The flow.. no issue
2. The return which connects to the jet pump
3. What I thought was a vent but in fact is the out put of the jet pump that transfers fuel.
I can remove the jet pump and just have a return into the tank but it means I have an extra tube that would vent to atmosphere when in fact I already
have a vented cap. Is there any issue with a having two vents and how is the best way to prevent fuel from coming out of the tank with a one way
valve? so that air can get in and the tank vents pressure through the cap?
Any thoughts?
thanks

If you've already got the venting sorted, could you not just block it off?
Either a rubber hose cap, or the locost way of fuel hose, and then plug it with a bolt (clamped of course).

could do but I don't think it would hurt to have a one way valve in it so that i can be 100% sure that the tank does not end up with a vacuum in
it.

You can get valves for that, Merlin Motorsport do them, they let air in and out only when there is a low pressure differential, good for stopping fuel
coming out the vent pipe when cornering hard.
Here you are-

not cheap though at £40
