Crimping HT leads

I am making up some HT leads I have some silicone carbon core cable I have cut the outer insulation off and the core has a separate insulation around it do I also need to cut this off, when this is done the small carbon cores come out.Do I crimp terminals onto the carbon strands or leave the insulation on the cores and crimp onto this.
Hope this makes sence.
Thanks in advance Matty

I would strip back enough of the insulation so that the core could be turn back along the outside of the insulation under the connector. Some cheap crimping pliers have a section for HT connectors

Thats how its supposed to be done. There used to be a wire clip (u shape) that you inserted down the core and back over the outer, under the terminal for better conduction but they've been unavailable for a while now. Just wrap the inner core back over the outer. The terminal crimps onto the outside of the main insulation.

Thanks for the advice I have now made up a set using vehicle wiring products parts.Cheched resistances as I went along to make sure they are good joints.Carefully crimped with a standard crimp tool.Ever put a bit of heat shrink over the crimp part of the terminal to keep it all tidy.
