Gsxr 750cc bike TB'S
Right guys not sure if i have a problem or not so ill ask another question before i get started !
I have been looking for a set of bike tb's for a while to go on a st170 inlet i bought
I found some off a 1999 GSXR 750 that can be re-spaced ! Really good nick and cheap as chips so i bought them
I was looking up guides today about spacing them and realized mine had injector lips
Basically turns out after looking 2000-2003 can be re-spaced and are what all the guides are on
Mine also can be respaced but have Injector 'pockets' in the barrel of the body ...
Does this matter will i have to modify them or anything ?
I remember having a xr3i once that was on injection an i had to use an adapter plate to block the injector pockets in the head when using on a single
webber
Below are two specs of the tb's first my ones second the common ones most guides are on ... Below that is a link to a site that will show you a
pic of both types
Pre-2000 750 ( these are the ones i have)
44mm ID at inlet
40mm ID at exit
Injector 'pockets' in the barrel of the body
190cc/m injectors (which are angled more in line with the bore of the body than later years)
1 piece fuel rail
No secondary butterflies
750 & 1000 from 2000-2003
750 & 1000 are essentially the same
80mm spacing between bore centres
270cc/m injectors
48mm ID, 54mm OD at inlet
42mm ID, 48mm OD at exit
Some have a fuel rail that consists of 4 plastic injector connectors joined by separate bits of tube: the tubes can be replaced if respacing the
bodies.
Alternatively, use a Jenvey fuel rail
Contain secondary butterflies that were ECU controlled on the bike, to improve drivability. They can be removed and the holes tapped and blocked
with bolts

If someone could let me know the answer id appreciate it

I wouldn't worry to much put your injectors in the st manifold and blank off the ones in the itb carry on as planned
The ITB only act as an air valve this way I think the 600 cc throttle bodies are similar

Cheers mate
I knew it would run but how well i wasn't sure off
Any reason it may affect the performance of them ?
want to determine if its worth getting the normal 2000-2003 set instead

I don't think there would be too much difference your putting throttle bodies on to increase the volume of air going into the engine so long as
the air flow is reasonably smooth, the injector spray pattern is after the throttle body

I've got similar TB's to yours, but I plant to experiment with both sets of injectors to see what works. Should be interesting,.....

AFAIK all the GSXR throttle bodies have injector mounting bosses cast into them, as do most other bike throttle bodies. You simply need to blank off
either the original ST ones or the ones in the TB's. There's little point in running staged injectors unless you are shooting for really
big power.

Correct. If respacing then I think the candidates for blocking off are the TB ones as the fuel rail will need to be modified...

Cheers all but im still unsure
Basicly mine are the pre 2000 750cc ones and on the inlet side have injector pockets as the injectors sit more in line with the bore than the later
years most guides are on ! Basicly i want to know will this affect performance ? will i have to modify them or blank these lips in some way ?
Also Pre 2000 ones are (44mm ID at inlet / 40mm ID at exit)
2000 onward ones 48mm inlet / 42mm at exit)
Being smaller will this make much odds in output ? trying to deside if i should just get the 2000 onward ones
thanks

Are yours like these ones?
The cut outs in the roof of the throttle bodies will make negligible difference, they have been used on lots of conversions.

Yes Mike they are the ones
so its not worth getting the other type ?
if not are any modifications needed to these ?
cheers

Same as mine. 7 years on and no complaints from my corner
Stop making excuses and go fit them
drop me a U2U with your email address and I can send more pics if you want.
