fuel pressure reg vacuum pipe
Hi all,
Just a quick question. Im using a standard blacktop fuel rail with custome plenam. The pressure regulator has a vacuum pipe going to it, but no where
on my chamber to attach. Am I right in thinking the regulator needs the vacuum to work correctly? Any ideas and advice welcome.
Thanks
Andy
P.S I also want to double check my fuel lines are right. Does the feed from the high pressure pump go into the fuel rail at the end without the
regulator or the end with it??

I've ran my car without a vacuum hose on it, it doesn't make a whole lot of difference

it ajusts fuel rail pressure to engine vac so an oe ecu will run better with it conected as its maped to run like it but its normal thease days for
programable type ecu's to be setup with fixed fuel pressure as responce when the throttle is opened quickly can be better that way.
thats the idea anyway

Hi all,
i bit off the question, on the original plenum (silvertop) there are 2 vacuum pipes - one is for the fuel regulator, what is the other for?

Could be the advance for the distributor?

Zetecs are all coil pack ignition based so no dizzy... I would guess the extra port is for a map sensor

The supply from the pump goes onto the
rail. The regulator end goes back to the tank.

As others have said, I think you can run fine without the vacuum connection, or you can fit a vacuum port to your inlet.
