LPG brake fuel fittings???

I'm trying to fit an LPG kit to my Rover V8 recovery truck but have come across a problem with one of the threads on the LPG tank sender, I've measured it with a thread gauge and it comes out as 1mm pitch dead but around 1/2-14mm. Zeus book says metric fine is m14x1.5 1/2unc is 1.3 pitch is there such a thing as a M14x1mm brake fitting for 8mm-5/16 pipe or should I just replace it?

Could it be a banjo thread? 9/16" unf?. I don't have a Zeus book handy but its worth checking.

Ah looks like that could be it although theres not much between these ........
14mm = 0.551"
0.525" = 1/4 whitworth = 5/16 BSF
0.563" = 9/16 AF

not much in it, seams odd that the feed to the vapour pot is M10x1mm standard brake fitting and the filler to the tank is some thing else.

14x1 is used on LPG system but get the right parts rather than cobbling something together.

I intend on fitting every thing properly even if it is a bit of a Heniz 57 of the main parts, it just seems that every pipe has a different size thread I just can't seem to track down this one fitting.

Sorry, but I don't follow your logic I'm afraid.

You don't need to be doing anything other than buying LPG system components and fitting them, you really shouldn't have to work it out at all.

That's certainly how I did it.

I have all the main parts what I'm struggling with is the plumbing. back of the external filler is M12x1.5 compression fitting in to 5/16 copper pipe the other end that goes in to the tank sender unit is M14x1mm compression (the one I can't find for sale any where) from the tank sender unit M10x1mm in to 3/16 pipe that then goes in to 1/4 bsp female fitting on the vapouriser. Now I know there needs to be a soleniod between the two but if I can't get the fittings then it's a waste of time.

Normally the pipe from tank to vapouriser would be either 6mm ( or 8mm) , these days the norm is to use Faro Poly flex LPG pipe for this .

The tank fittings divide in those for single hole tanks and four hole tanks, most systems are single hole tanks, 4 hole tank outlets use JIC fittings.

Look out for airbrake fittings. Many of them are **X1mm. Linky to a website pdf

Just check they are fit for purpose re. pressure and lpg.
