How Does a Bladder Tank Work?

I've been looking at the Dallara tank I have in the garage and it appears to only have a single HP fuel pump within.

What prevents fuel-starvation? Does the tank contract around the pump as the fuel is used up?

Cheers!

Years ago my bladder had built in baffles, now I would use the small squares of fireproof foam you stuff down the filler tube.

You mean when you pass them?

You'd be surprised how quickly the sales people at B&Q try and assist you after ignoring you for the past 15 minutes when you try and start a chainsaw

From past experience the bladder tank is built with three components.

There is an ali tank with a bolt on lid, this hold a special re-enforced rubber bladder.

The bladder is placed in the tank and the bladder filled with a plastic foam like a scrubby, the lid is then bolted on the top to hold it all together.

The resulting tank can now take a major hit without leaking.

I rolled my Datsun race car at 120 mph, the car landed on the tank, car was almost destroyed, not a drop of gas came out of the tank.
