Running Z20LET on ms2
Hi, has anyone run a Vauxhall Turbo engine on MS2V3?
The engine is out of a Astra/Zafira GSi and is Z20LET.
I'm currently running my ms2 on a c20xe Vauxhall engine and plan to swap the engine in winter time, but would like a complete understanding of
how to run it like i do the NA engine.
The z20let has before and after boost solenoids, but most people say the after solenoid isnt strictly necessary especially as its in a 7 style
kitcar.
I know this engine is very similar to a c20let just a bit newer, but i'm unsure how the turbo/boost side is run by the megasquirt.
Many Thanks
Ben

On phone so hard to reply in detail but I do a standalone conversion on the vx220 turbo using adaptronic. Delete inlet side vac storage box and
solenoid, just use the turbo solenoid
No knowledge of that Ecu
Vxr astral turbo, injectors and supporting inlet and exhaust makes 316Bhp on non bragging rr
But Leh lump has better pistons and balance shaft already removed. Rods on both the weak point

Think that's the general consensus, only needing turbo solenoid.
I'll have a look at the LEH engine, what cars where they in? I believe that's the vxr engine? Maybe a little out of my budget
I'm not aiming too high power wise, anything standard power would be enough for the moment, otherwise I'll have to change gearbox etc
Thanks

Astra vxr
240ish std power, revs a bit better and few other improvements. Nothing that can't be done to a zlet
Have a customers heavy worked let, running 370 with turbo on still, piston 2 a touch down on pressure and valve stem seals leaking a touch. Fancy
arrow rods etc if your interested?

Hi, thanks. Depends on the price but I'm pretty sure it'll be out of my budget tbh

He wants £1k for the engine. Arrow rods were nearly £800
Can confirm full spec if you require

Bit over my budget. Thanks anyway.
I've got a few months to research and purchase.
Does anyone know any more info?

Don't know anything specific about your engine, but everything is wired in like a standard NA engine. You have to choose speed density so you
also need a vacuum line to the ECU.
You can just get a manual boost controller to adjust boost but if you want to do it through the ECU then you need a PWM transistor and a solenoid. I
don't know if you can use your existing solenoid, probably can, but all the parts to do boost control including a solenoid comes in at around
£50

Thanks dave, I'll look into a need PVM transistor and check what is the recommended solenoid. It's GM so likely to be fine with ms.

These are the components that you need
IRLZ44 (IRLZ44NPBF-ND)
100r resistor
10k resistor
1N4002 (1N4002DICT-ND)
And the link below shows how to wire it all, he used a GM solenoid
