Quite a good day in the garage.....

Still playing with EFI for the E Type, and several people on here have suggested 6 individual TBs could be a swine to balance, and as the car has a lightened flywheel and crank, tickover does rattle the gears some. So started thinking about a plenum setup....
So

Took another XJ6 EFI Manifold like this:

stock manifold
stock manifold

And a Nissan Skyline plenum like this

Skyline plenum
Skyline plenum

A few choice cuts, and removal of all unnecessary lugs, added a few bits of 50mm tube, and ended up with this:

Jag XJ6 meets Skyline 1
Jag XJ6 meets Skyline 1

Next job is the throttle body, I've modified an XJ6 body to take a TPS, and machined a broken one down to make the plenum neck, welding that up is next weekends job, I need the cone filter to set the angle first....

Sure, hopefully by then 'll have achieved redundancy, plan is to earn a bit extra doing one offs etc....

Nice work but curious as to why it would be difficult to balance ITB,s, I would have thought a set off a Speed Six TVR would potentially work well on your engine.

Nice! I'm going for a plenum for my V4 because with that set-up balancing ITBs would be really nasty. Inline ITBs is tricky. In a V4 formation... yikes. Difficult not to end up with separate cables to the two banks and some serious bodging.

Blimey Pete, you're going to run out of shelf space to store all the induction manifolds

Yes I seem to be amassing a collection of prototypes......

Wadders I've built an ITB setup, and really its my preferred route, I just have the doubts about balancing, and to a lesser extent the vacuum for the servo and MS. Its got bypass air screws for fine adjustment, and I've rose jointed the linkage, so I'll see how that goes first, but got to admit I'm liking the idea of a simple clean setup....
Here it is its using 2 Triumph Triple bodies:
ITB Progress 1
ITB Progress 1
