Exhaust Pressure Transducer?
Hi guys,
On many of the pin out diagrams including the fabulous one on here, state an "Exhaust pressure transducer" what is this, where does it
live and do we need it on a silver top Zetec using blacktop ECU etc?
Many thanks!!!!

I don’t know what your reading ? But it’s not anything of mine unless you mean somthing differant.
Egr ..exhaust gas recirculation.
Evap..Canister purge valve
.???.

Hi ya,
Pin 65 on the black top ECU says
65 white/green -- exhaust pressure transducer signal(large plug ) and I have seen this sensor shown on a few schematics and the plug I have has a wire
in this cavity too.
All exhaust pressure sensor I can think of are normally on desiels etc
Many thanks.

It's on the egr pipework to detect blockage/bypassing on the later blacktop mondeo/cougar zetecs, i can't recall seeing one on a focus
zetec.
It will trigger a fault code if not connected, i don't know if that code will trigger limp mode as well.
Are you using the blacktop inlet and exhaust system, or using the blacktop ecu with silvertop inlet/exhaust?

Hi ya,
So far I have blacktop ECU, inlet with injectors, idle valve, throttle position etc.
Nothing for the exhaust so far.
Cheers.

Have a look at these, there's an overview of the egr system and removal of the egr pipework with the pressure sensor pipework location.

Hi,
All understood. I wounder if my ECU requires this etc and if not fitted, if it goes to limp mode. other sensor to leve off until I power up nd check
fault codes lol
At this rate, might have to by a scrapper car lol

Ok I did say I was going to give my self a refresher.
As pointed out above it’s a pre 97 thing and is part of the egr system.
It’s not present on the 98 99 system.

Lol lol perfect.
I have designed a whole vehicle schematic so double checking everything lol the Joy's of being an electrical engineer lol

It’s a looooooong time since I’ve played with silvertop and early Blacktop ecu’s.
If the vehicle had it there would be a metal pipe in the inlet. But as your mixing and matching.
With the silvertops that I did I binned the complete Egr system. It did show a code but did not give a limp home mode affect.
I am prety confident your ecu will not suport it any way.
