Check your fuel hoses
While checking the brakes pre MOT I luckily noticed this:
Description
Description
So R9 isn't up to the job, this is hose from a reputable dealer
The Cohline 2240 hose (from CBS) I fitted at the same time is fine. Ironically the R9 replaced the R6 I had fitted during the build.

30R9 refers to the liner inside the fuel hose as being ethanol resistant not the outside. All rubber hose will perish over time but some of the
Pirelli hose seems to perish quite quickly. 30R10 is suitable as ethanol resistant for in tank purposes so maybe try some of that?
Never under estimate the ingenuity of an idiot!

I replaced all of the hoses when I did the engine change, so around 4 years. The Cohline is like new
