Mk2 Golf GTi Fuel Pumps - Any info?
Have heard a brief mention that the mk2 golf gti fuel pump wth built-in swirl pot might be useful for efi installations.
Here's a picture of one:
Can someone please clarify whether these would be suitable and what the various components are. Presumably you'd need a low pressure pump to
lift fuel to the pot - or is that what one of the appendages is?
Thanks for any help...
Matt.

Hi Matt,
canister on the left looks like an EFI type fuel filter (probably a bosch part). The lump on the right could be a LP lift pump.
Did you get to remove it from the Golf?

No, I haven't seen one in the flesh - got the pic off the web so I don't know where any of the bits connect to

Thanks Monkeybasher, I did a search but somehow missed that!
Does anyone know what max pressure this runs at? I think in the golf the regulator was set at 2.5 bar but I need to run at least 3 bar so wonder if
this will keep up.

Depends which car if came off. If it's off any 16v or an early 8v (about pre-88 I think) which has K-Jet fuel injection then the pump is
huuuuge, it'll happily supply well over 5 bar at quite stonking flow rates, 400bhp 20vt conversions use them happily. If it's off a later
8v with digifant injection (proper efi not the mechanical variety) then it's not quite as manly, but I've got one that's happily
(over) fuelling my 2.0 16v on tb's, don't know where it's limit is though.
All the mk2 golf gti's apart from very very late 8v's have a separate in-tank lift pump to supply the high pressure pump. It's a
combined pump and level sender unit actually, saves having to put a second hole in your fuel tank.
The other two bits by the pump are an accumulator and a fuel filter
