where to buy megasquirt?

Hi,

I'm looking to buy megasquirt V3 but am unsure where to buy from after reading some threads on here and other forums.

Can you guys reccomend some megasquirt dealers that you have used and are pleased with? I'm not sure if I will build the unit or just buy it built....depends on cost diffence....have you guys found building the kit a big saving?

Cheers
Paul.

Calvin X is spot on. The essence of assembling electronic kits is GOOD soldering followed by understanding where each individual component has to go.
It is very easy for example to get the polarity of a diode or electrolytic capacitor ar5e upwards.
Also should you happen to be colour blind, deciphering resistor values could be tricky. I always measure resistor values with a calibrated multimeter.
Check,check again then solder.
I earn a decent living just by rectifying bad solder joints!

I've been building my MS2 this weekend from a kit i ordered for DIY Autotune. It took 9-10 days form placing order to having it in my hands. I got charged VAT but no duty i think but Parcelfarce charge something like £13 customs clearance fee too. (but still cheaper than buying a UK kit i think. Perhaps more expensive than ordering invidiual components from RS or the like but then it'll probably take a few hours to work out what everything is and the order codes for the bits.

All the components come in little zip bags with labels on telling you what's in them. Not had a problem yet - but I've not finished building it.

Hi,

I got mine from Bill Shurvinton, he is one of the best contacts for megasquirt in the uk.

I got an few unassembled kit from him within a few days, but I think he may also supply ready made boards.

He's details are on msefi if you search or on the link below at the bottom of the page under bills bedroom:

Also,

I forgot to mention that he is the offical UK dealer for innovate and I think he also supplies the techedge stuff.

I would recommend the Innovate LC-1 for getting a decent map, very quickly without needing a Rolling road. Bills prices are about the cheapest.

Advert over!!!!!!

Luke
