EFI recommendations

HI All, I’ve just ordered a Megasquirt 1 V3, and waiting for it to be delivered and was wondering what other parts people use and recommend. If you could let me know on the following

Fuel Pump
Fuel pressure regulator
Fuel filter
Lambda sensor (if not the LC1 intermediate box do you use to decipher the signal)
Fast idle valve

Think that about it at the moment

Many thanks

I think that you will find it hard going trying to do without the LC1 controller. I'd suggest that you bite the bullet and get the LC1 kit, there will be enough to keep you busy

You may well find that you can live without the fast idle valve initailly. I have never got round to fitting mine, just use throttle control whilst cold and a spark table that stiffens up the idle speed control.

Cheers,

Colin

I bought my LC1 from Bill Shurvington (see the msefi site), some have bought thiers direct from the states, a search on recent posts should find it.

The fuel pump on ebay looks like an in tank one, is that the route you want to go?

Cheers,

Colin

The relevant parameters are:
Will it generate the pressure you need for your injectors?
Will it flow sufficient for the power you are after at that pressure?
If the flow is significantly higher then it will pull extra current, I think that mine pulls around 7A from memory.
Is it of reasonable quality that it will last more than 5 mins?

Having said all that:
Although there is no make, part number or tech spec, if the car it's being sold as being suitable for runs at around the 3bar mark and has greater power than yours then I would think that it is a low risk purchase. I paid about that for one from a scrappy.

It is generally a good idea to mount them in an anti vibration mount. It should help the pump and reduce the noise generated.

Cheers,

Colin
