brain frying stufffffffffffffffff
had a play with sp3 today,as far as i can see(reading dials on laptop screen) my ignition advance (2.0 zetec with throttle bods and edis) hardly moves
from the 10 deg ,s it shows at idle. what controls advance,i thought it was the EDIS unit itself?
also is 5ms duration about right for injector opening at around 1000 rpm idle?

Do you have any form of ECU? the ECU tells the EDIS when to send the spark, without any info from the ECU i belive thje EDIS will provide limp home.

check the polarity of the wires to your VR sensor,
and the sensor gap.
if the EDI doesn;t see a VR input it goes into limp home mode, and fires at a fixed 10degress

Without the VR signal the EDIS unit can't derive any timing information at all, so it won't be producing any sparks.
Conrod, the MS tells the EDIS what advance to set. If the EDIS doesn't see a "Spark Advance Word" from the MS unit it will default
to 10 degrees BTDC.

Have you set your spark map in Megatune.
It could be that you have all bins set to 10.
I guess the VR sensor must be working as if it runs you have the injectors firing.
Summer's here!!!!
