megasquirt base map

hi has anyone got a link for a base map for a 2l zetec. ive found this one do you think this would be a good start

That is a megajolt basemap so no.... not really any use.

If you are intending to use megasquirt I suggest you do lots of reading. Read the manual, and then read it again. Slowly it will start to make sense.

I can supply you a base map but you required map will probably be different to anyone elses as it depends on fuel pressure, injectors, TB size, TPS range, state of tune, Edis or not,and loads of other variables.

Get it wrong and you will at best not get it running. At worst you will melt something.

Once you are ready to start, look at what others have done to get some guidance but please start with the default map and set it to match your engine output and setup.

Not trying to be negative, just trying to save you some grief (and possibly some money!!)

I can only agree with TangoMan. Read read and read.
There are several basemaps around, use one of them and you should get it running.

And get an wideband labmda sensor. It's really make a difference.

ive been reading for hours and it makes less sense now then before lol. ive been looking at the wideband lamber but i need a controller the cheapest ive seen is $200 is there anywhere in the uk that sell them. i would like to use one to map it from scratch. but do you think it would be easyer to load a base map then mod that.

I am at a similar stage to oadamo and have been thinking about a wideband controller but am really put off by the money. At the moment I have a narrow band installed and would really like an idea of why I should spend all that money to replace it with a wideband? What exactly will it do that a narrow band wont? Come on guy's help me justify this expenditure.

Ive got a wideband and a narrow band lamda for sale (check out for sale section)

also i have many base maps for zetecs, they all fire and run my car. let me know you spec and ill send you one via email!

A wideband lambda will tell you your current air-fuel ratio anywhere between 10:1 and 20:1. A narrow band will ony tell you whether you are risher than 14.7:1 or leaner so it's useless for tuning the high load areas of the map where you're looking for around 13:1 (depending on setup).

Well I run around 16:1 at cruise revs for economy and 13:1 at WOT for maximum power. I also run closed loop always to ensure I am running the best mixture whatever the conditions.

None of these are possible with a narrowband. I have a NB in the garage but would waste my time with it even now I have a well set up map.
