Do i need a Wide/narrow band sensor?
Megasquirt & Spark now fully installed but have been told i need to get a lamba sender welded into the exhaust.
Is this right?
Am confused - narrow or wide band?
Best place to get one?

You don't have to have one at all, but it makes sense. If you're going to tune it yourself on the road then you'll want a wideband,
if you're going to get it set up on a rolling road dyno then you only need a narrowband for teh ECU to run closed loop while cruising.
A narrowband sensor will basically tell the ECU whether it's running richer or leaner than 14.7:1 air:fuel ratio. At cruise the ECU will
constant adjust the fuelling to stay at 14.7:1.
A wideband will tell you exactly what AFR you are running at between 10:1 and 20:1, so is much more useful for tuning, particular at high power areas
of the map where you are looking for 12.5:1 or thereabouts.

I have managed with a narrow band sensor and havent blown the engine up yet, but I do run it on the rich side to be safe .A wide band is best though
and eliminates any guess work and will let you get an exact mixture reading.A narrow band would be ok to get a rough setting before paying to have it
rolling roaded though and they are less than £20 on Ebay.

Wideband it is then... because Northampton Motorsport have stopped mapping MS cars.
I need to ge the car running asap (doing a special/sponcered ride for Cerebal Palsy). Desperatly need someone who can map megasquirt on a x-flow
