RS Turbo

Gents,

Heres one to kick about.

I am currently running a MFI CVH unit ex early XR3i running Bosch K Jetronic.

I have now aquired an RS Turbo unit from a series 1 .

Having a quick squint it looks like I can get all the gubbins in but do not really want to go to hassle of fitting the EFI chips and sensors required for the KE Jetronic.

Anyone know if K Jetronic will run with turbo and what mods would be required.

I have induction sorted. Exhaust will work It's just fuel, sparks and air to make it go.

And yes I know it would be easier with EFI but it's a toy so why do it the easy way.

S1 RST is MFI not EFI so a quick change of metering head and splice in the management for a S1 and your there.

Obviously you need to lower compression etc etc

Sorry didnt make clear.

Have complete new engine from RST therefore CR etc no issues.

XR3i is full mechanical with fuel pressure control no ecu at all just pump relay.

To splice in KE jetronic system would have to fit new ecu to have somthing to splice to.

I Have a butchered RST meter head and airflow sensor which can swop out with XR components to make good. Just using the base with hose connector instead of airbox/filter assembly.

From what I have seen so far the only additional control I would need is boost control which is done by pulse signal from the original ecu

Or am I missing somthing.?

Had a look dragged out the haynes and it seems there is no way of doing it without loom mod.

Have now decided to wait for winter and do the Job properly stand by for megasquirt questions by the bucket load.

Ignition. If you leave it running the same advance as the normally aspirated engine it's likely to go pop quickly.
