XE crank sensor and MS II
Does anybody use the standard GM Crank sensor/toothed wheel combo, on a Vauxhall XE, in combination with MS II?
I;m having trouble setting it up in standard MSII. I know it's a 60 - 2 configuration. but i'm baffeld with the other settings regarding
the wheel. specifically those regarding the base timing. i'm getting a spark, and it seems regular, but i'm not sure at which point in the
cycle it's happening..
If anybody knows what to put in MageSquirt, i'd be very gratefull.

I have an XEV with a wasted spark DIS using MS2Extra 2.0.1. I don't know if they use the exact angles as the XE.
Tach input/Ignition settings:
- Spark mode = Toothed wheel
- Trigger Angle/Offset = 0
- Ignition Input Capture = Rising Edge
- Spark Output = Going High (Inverted) (Very important for standard DIS coil pack)
- Number of coils = Wasted spark
- Spark A output = D14
More ignition settings:
- Cranking dwell = 5.0
- Cranking advance = 10
- Dwell type = Standard Dwell
- Maximum Dwell Duration = 2.5
- Acceleration Compensation = 2.0
- Maximum spark duration = 2.0
- Spark hardware latency = 0
Trigger wheel settings:
- Trigger wheel arrangement = Single wheel with missing teeth
- Trigger wheel teeth = 60
- Missing teeth = 2
- Tooth #1 angle = 125.0
- Wheel speed = Crank wheel
You need to set the spark table to a fixed value, such as 10 degrees. Using a mark on the crank pulley and a timing gun, alter Tooth #1 angle to
ensure that the mark on the pulley lines up with 10 degrees.

Thanks Ben,
i'll have a look over he weekend. the idea of setting the advance over the whole table to 10 degrees to set initial timing is a good one, i
will definitively do that!

Under "More ignition settings", you can set the advance to "fixed timing" instead of "use table". Put 10 degrees
in the next box down. Saves messing around with the spark table.

I could not find this setting in standard MS II. So i will have to make a fixed 10 degree advance table, and change it back later. Not a big deal
really.
