Can I lengthen my fuel rail?
I've just had a thought. The CB900 bodies I'm using are twin castings, so I'm only putting one spacer in the middle of them. The
fuel rail that came with the bodies is 12mm od mild steel, and has the fuel pressure regulator already on it, thus saving me having to buy another
one.
Is there any reason why I can't cut the fuel rail in half, and add 30mm to it with a welded sleeved joint using 15mm x 1.5mm wall thickness
tube? As far as I can see, as long as the welding is of a sufficient standard, there should be no problem.
Your thoughts please?

Yes i did it for a mate and silver soldered the pipe together

No reason at all. But consider soldering unless you're welding is seriously good. If you solder with flux the solder will "wick"
into the gap by capillary action and give a much better seal than if you weld it. You really don't want a leaky fuel rail

Brazing is an option too.

Made mine from scratch using some copper pipe, brazed it together , no problems .
