ST170/Haybusa TB's
First post but here goes!
I am currently in the process of swapping a Zetec 1.8 silvertop for a 2.0 blacktop (ST170).
The ST is fitted along with modified silvertop sump, alternator bracket and idler pulley, plus megasquirt v3.0 ecu.
Intending to fit Haybusa TB's, but have the option of using an purpose built alloy manifold or the ST one. To me the ST looks the better option
since it looks to have a more direct airflow into the head, ie. it is angled upover whereas the alloy one is flat.
If I use the ST manifold then I have the choice of using the ST injectors (standard ST) or the Haybusa ones (280cc/min) and blanking off the ones I
don't use.
Any advice appreciated.

your in the right place.
Probably no help whatsoever but I did just the same swap but have used ZX9 carbs. Revs up to the red line no problem.
I'd be interested to follow your conversion while I wonder if the TB's I have will ever make it onto the car
Do you have, or plan to, a blog?

Firstly sorry for picture size, below is my mates Busa T/B's mounted to a ST170 inlet manifold that's been bolted to my blacktop just for a
test. He's bolting them to a ST170 lump in a MK1 fiesta XR2. So to answer your question they mount fine.
The St injectors are only 10cc/min below my Cossie dark blue injectors @ 305cc/min so should be good for 220hp ish as that's what a standard
cossie runs. From a thread on Turbosport, with a alteration to the exhaust cam timing his set up should be good for 200+ bhp.

Sorry no blog, I didn't know what a blog was till I visited yours .
Just to update, I went with the ST manifold but using the bike injectors ....for now.
I spent a day watching a mate make up the engine loom for all the sensors/injectors n' stuff (I hate wiring and my soldering skill sux!). Today
I finished off plumbing the fuel system in and tested it for leaks, then connected the ecu ready to see if it would run.
Spent a couple of hours reading and trying to get my head around the megasquirt manual, plugged in the laptop, followed the instructions and it fired
up! I really wasn't expecting it to be that easy. Now just have a few little jobs to finish up around the engine bay then re-fit the cooling
system and I can start the tuning process
