2.2 and 3.0 refer to the main board, 3.0 is re-designed and better than the original allegedly. The main differences refer to the versions MS, and they are MS1 and MS2, MS2 uses a different processor and has a number of enhancements, it also costs more than MS1

hope that helps.

Sorry I can't help, but I'm confused by the same question.

Can MS1 v3 be used to adjust the ignition advance with an edis?

Yup, when you get it make sure that you get it set up so that you have control over fueling and ignition. you can have different MS set ups that allow for control of fueling only or fueling and ignition, if you want ignition only you can use a Megajolt set up

I would have thought you would be better talking to Phil here

http://www.extraefi.co.uk/ms1_products.htm

Then he could build you a megasquirt which will do what you want rather than a generic build. MS1 is more that up to the job you want.

i would say the only down point to that item is that you will have to wire the connector for the loom, are you any good with a soldering iron? it also doesn't have any sensors with it and it doesn't tell you what sensors it has been calibrated for. so you will have to recalibrate the MS for your own sensors

Yes it can be used with the Edis system but so can all the others , mine is running on a MS1 V2.2 with the Edis mods.
The main difference between V2.2 and V3 is that V3s have more tolerance for set up and wiring faults as the circuitry is better protected.

I've written up my experiences of converting to bike TB's plus megasquirt on my website. There's a link somewhere nearby (at the bottom of the post I think...). You might find the odd useful snippet.
