Fuel inj pump question.
I have a bosch style ext pump.
Q) Will it be happy to pull fuel from a dip pipe in the top of the tank or does it need to be from the bottom ?
I may have to get another tank made as my outlet is 5mm from the panhard rod.
cheers

Are you using a swirl pot ? or is it built into the bottom of the tank?.I have an external swirl pot fed by a facet red top this in turn feeds the
Bosch HP pump.I think most do it this way but some people put a small pot on the bottom of the tank and feed the HP pump from an outlet on this below
the tank.

Mine has a sump in the bottom of the tank and the pump is located at that level you must gravity feed the pump, also needs a pre filter too

Once the fuels flowing I don't think they care (in the same way that you can put them near the tank or near the engine [as in my tintop] ). But
you might have issues with inital priming of the fuel pump if you put it up high.
Personally I'd add a take-off at the bottom of the tank (there are various options to do this including "bolt-in" jobbies that you
only need access from the outside of the tank) and use the dip tube as the return line.
Actually, I'd be tempted to try it from the dip tube and see what happens.
Things rarely do what the books and experts say and there's one way of finding out if it will work

I have a lift pump, just thought I could leave this out and use the high pressure pump. But wanted to pull from a dip tube as the conections would be
away from the panhard rod.
I will go have another look at how near the outlet is to panhard rod
