Quick question regarding facet solid state pumps how do regulate the pressure as they do not see to stop like a interuper pump.

They regulate pressure by a regulator on the return to the tank.

I dont think the question was about a fuel injection type pump. The Facet low pressure pumps probably use the build up of pressure to hold the outlet
valve off its seat or to reduce the travel of the internal plunger, my red top pump never stops but does slow up if blocked and makes a different
noise as the pressure builds up.

I changed the Facet pump on mine to one of Electronic Fuel pump MGB on eBay (end time 16-Jan-11 21:47:52 GMT) it is an
interrupter and stops when up to pressure, it delivers about 3 - 4 psi.
I had the same pump on my last car with ZZR1100 carbs, and have used it on this one with DCOEs and now SUs, no problems at all.
The banjo fittings can be a little pricey being the only -ve.
