Mondeo immobilizer demo
For the attention of Aidan...and any one that may be interested.
I was asked a bit ago on a budget way of getting a Mondeo engine to meet an age related mot emisions. Reason being his government want to charge him
over 2k a year for road tax on a dirty engine (uk not all bad then)
My reply is always to use the standard management
This is from a 2000 ford Mondeo.
The Mondeo has an engine loom that unplugs from the car loom. The car side of this plug can be wired up as is. Its had a few functions removed in a
bench engine style as this is going to be an "mot setup". Just two plugs needed from inside the car.
This is what’s left.
There is a Live feed a switched live feed and an earth. There are two wires for the car. The first being the fuel pump live and the second is a tacho
feed.
6 way fuse box and one relay (fuel pump) 3 led indicators. First is immobilizer function. Second is the Batery charge light and the third is the low
oil pressure light.
At rest the immobilizer light sits and blinks away.
With the key inserted into the ignition and switched to run the Pats led stays lite for a short period and then goes out. At the same time the ecu
pulses the fuel pump to presurise the fuel rail.
With the starter engaged the engine now starts.
When the engine is stopped the immobilizer will start to flash after around 3 seconds to show that it is now re immobilized.
Bit of a vid. Engine is running ruff due to engine being hot and the ecu not getting proper signals from the maff, lambda and tps.
Aidan if you can fit that mondeo loom in your engine bay and make it look pretty I will be impressed.
Vid
Will send you a u2u,,
And Femi I am around 4 hours into yours....
