Zetec Megasquirt assistance
Hello and here is my first post in this reccommended forum.
I am in the process of building a Zetec powered Triumph Spitfire.
Its a new engine 2.0ltr from a Focus 1994 year. I have made my own inlet manifold (Plenum) which uses one single throttle body and four injectors from
the escort turbo.
I built my own Megasquirt 2 V3 running duel MAF and EDIS.
I have got the car ticking over and running reasonably ok but !
My request does anyone have a set of decent starter maps for Megasquirt. VE Spark ETC.
Thanks
Rob

Sounds like a dead end. Had anyone Megasquirted a 2.0 ltr Zetec then? Rob

I am sure people have, but it isn't well known to be still using maf with megasquirt, why are you keeping the maf? why not just go to alpha-N or
speed density (map)?
It would be worth taking it to baileyperformance in telford, they know megasquirt inside and out and will get you up and running for a very low cost,
they do all mapping and set up not just power runs and will give you a dyno number and any advice on your setup at the end of the day.

Ever thought about running it on the zetec ecu ? No mapping needed and in a road car its ideal. Mapping a car isn't something just any one can
do.

Surely someone has a spark map for him?
Regarding fueling, its going to depend on the inlet system. I would just run Speed-Density and autotune it.
It won't be that difficult.
Tuning the sparks is more tricky though.

These are the maps I used to get my Zetec started years ago.

Sorry I am using Map Daddy duel Map sensor not Maf. Thanks for the reply guys.
The reason I am not using a standard Zetec ECU is that I am not using a standard Zetec inlet, due to restrictions on room under the bonnet I have made
my own inlet which is significantly different to the ford one.
I do plan to Autotune it but need a decent base settings before I run the engine too much.
Thanks again

Just remember that the ve table above will be useless unless your base settings are the same. i.e. reqd fuel etc.
Spark map be an ok starter though.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.
