Scrap Yard
Getting ready to visit my local scrappy next weekend, may take the wife for a day out.
Looking for a radiator, wiper motor, and a heater for the MK Indy (I already hear you saying get it SVA'd without, but if I did would never get
it finished), which donors would you recommend.
Thanks in advance
John

Rad - Micra / Polo aee the usual suspects, depends on the engine you are using
Wiper Motor - Can't beat a mini but now hard to find
Heater - Again mini for ease of fitment but Polo is much more powerfull and fairly compact
Thanks

Maplin have a good deal on 12v ceramic heaters.
Make sure you have a damn good alternator that can supply enough current to drive them.

I don't know much detail but, a Tiger Cat owner called Giles Cooper (link) has just fitted an electric
windscreen to his car. It has a heating element built in - the same as some fords. main advantage is - no heater needed.
There is no info on his site about it yet but I will ask for details next time I see him...

I almost bought a caterham windscreen of someone from BlatChat, some of them have heater elements in them. He never got back to me when I was going to
pick it up, which was a shame.

Tried to get hold of a Caterham screen when I built my car from a screen specialist but they are only available from Caterham at a cost then of about
£280 plus vat

I'm using a Caterham heated screen. Fitted post SVA though - never needed to switch it on!
As for wipers, I've used a cut down Nova system. Fine if your wiring under the dash is tidy, if not, expect tangles and blown fuses!

You certainly know how to show a girl a good time . I wondered if a rear screen with a heater would satisfy the heating requirements. There must be
a flat one that could be used or trimmed to shape. A neighbour had an Orion Ghia years ago with a heated front screen and it cleared almost instantly
when he needed to use it.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
