Success - XE running MS and GSXR TBs

Today I finished off wiring up my new engine loom. I check I was getting sparks and fuel and with the default settings and calculated VE table it fired pretty much right up. Now just need to:

- reattach rear bodywork properly
- fit trumpets and air filter
- work out why shift lights don't work
- map it using the LC-1

Anyone any hints on mapping? Or got a laptop to sell - my serial port has died so I borrowed a laptop but I can't keep it for long.

Hi Chris, have you gone for sequential shift lights or just the one. I have a single and had to set i as one of the outputs and not the shift option.

Mapping is really easy once you have the LC1 set up. Just give the wideband plenty of control, say 20%, with steps of 3%. Datalog it starting steady without too much load. Run it through VE analyser in Megalogviewer and accept the changes. As you get closer to correct mapping (you will tell because altered cell values will be down to small alterations rather than big numbers) reset the control to 10% and the steps to 1%.

Within a day you will have a good setup. I opted to go with VE target table which is great as you get nice lean running for cruise but rich enough when asking for power.

I haven't wired in the idle valve yet and might not bother as it idles well. The only problem is the sudden drop when the fan kicks in

Summer's here!!!!

My shift lights are sequential and use the IAC ouput to control them. I have three stages (four if you include all off) of lights controlled by just 2 outputs - some logic circuits created with transistors and diodes on a bit of strip board behind the dash. The MS does what it is supposed to so it be somewhere on my small circuit that have the problem - although I have had it working before on the bench.
