Daft MSnS Questions....
Time for a daft question. Can someone explain to me about the MAP setting on the squirt n' spark? its in KPA's but does a higher value
eg. 100 mean there is more pressure or less (ie. more vaccum = higher no. more vaccum = more revs?) or is it the other way around? Have played with
this on my megajolt which was RPM x TPS rather than map.
Also anyone got a very simple table that would be a good starting point to get my engine running (toyota 4-age)? I will try to post up what
I've created but I don't seem to be able to find a ready made one anywhere (thats not for a turbo'd engine).....Cheers Oli.

100kpa is atmospheric pressure , less is vacuum.My car runs at 42kpa idle vacuum and about 85kpa cruise .

Oli,
If I have it right KPA is the presure.
At rest you KPA value should read arround 100 +/- 2 Kpa.
While you engine is running ( at tickover )your Kpa should drop mine sits at 40 kpa'ish ( ie the single butterfly on the throtle is only
letting a small amount of air in and causing a vacume the the 40 kpa reading this vacume.
clear as mud ?

Cheers guys. I knew 100 KPA was atmoshperic pressure (padi diving course useful again!) but wasn't sure whether it was really a measure of
pressure or vacum if you see what I mean.....lol.....Cheers Oli.
