megasquirt querie

I'm havingproblems (i think) when trying to generate a spark table.
Set up is for msns and the spark table I first generated looked ok ish But I had an ini file conflict. So after resolving this and regenerating a table the setting at 600rpm idle is 26 degrees and at wot at 5000rpm its -10 degrees. i have not tried to start the engine yet with this setting but it sems way out to me. I;m just sure something is not right.
Msq (as far as it goes at the moment is attached i hope.

The "generate table" function in MegaTune only works for the fuel table. Idle should be somewhere in the region of 10 to 20 deg BTDC. WOT at low revs is somewhere in the region of 10 to 14 deg, ramping up to around 30 deg at 3000 rpm. Spark angle should be roughly constant for higher revs. At higher vacuum (lower MAP), you should increase the spark angle by around 1 degree per 3 kPa.

All of these angles depend on the exact engine you have. In general, the more modern an engine, the less advance is needed.

I've attached a spreadsheet, in it is some text describing a method to generate an initial timing table, i've used this method a couple of times now and it does get you pretty close, certainly good enough to run with. It's also got a table generator bit in it as well

Cheers for that spreadsheet- thats v useful for my purposes!!!! Was a bit worried how the hell I was going to work out an ignition map for a supercharged injection bike engine that was originally carb'd, NA and with a 2D ECU map!!!

Mmm I'm not sure about this one but I'm willing to believe you to a point.
The point is that my original MSQ had a truly believable generated table but now it's pure pissh as they say.

OOps forgot my manners thanks for the file Martyn_ 16v

I'm running the latest version MS (MSII extra), and that ONLY has a VE table generator, and not an ignition......Confusion arises from the fact that in the options list on the ignition table you have the generate table function...however, this is still only for VE - Take a look at the megajolt website for a load of different ignition maps.....Autosportlabs.

That spreadsheet looks good, but can I use that for AlphaN setting?
