MS and AlphaN query
I have been told by various people to use AlphaN in my megasquirt, which is fine. So the VE table shows RPM and throttle position.
But when I pull it into Megalog Viewer it reads it as RPM vs MAP, and then recalculates a VE table based on this. How have poeple got around this, or
how have you tuned the AlphaN setting.
I also seem to have a problem with my idle. This is currently at 1700 +/-50. (Note that I have not tuned it yet) However the butterflies are closed as
much as possible on the TBs. I have not yet fitted the airfilter, but would not have thought that this makes much difference. Is there anything else
I can do to reduce the idle speed?

In MegalogViewer change the settings at Options->Y Axis Field to "TP ADC" You might need to set up TP ADC in the calculated
fields->Optional fields first if you haven't already.
It will probably need to re-load the log file then away you go

An engine can't run fast without air, so as mentioned, check for leaks, and check that the throttle plates are balanced as well, one or two may
be open more than the others.

What have you done with the Idle air Bypass choke on the TB's... on the 2002 ITB's it was controled by a plunger connected to the water
system
If there not held shut it may be sucking them open?
I think there is also another Idle air bypass hole somewhere.
There is also a throttle stop which is like a knob on the end of a cable/pipe that danglese below the Tb's.
Also having the Ignition too advanced causes the re've to rise

OK, I now have managed to load the throttle position within Megalog viewer.
It also turns out that I was able to shut the butterflies further with the throttle stop, it was just that the springs were a bit tight so initially
did not close the butterflies any further.
MkIndy7 I have held the sliders shut with some chemical metal.
However it is interesting that you mention advances, as it looks like the map I have uses quite a high advance, but so far I have found no datils on
how to tune these. Does any one know how to set these up?
Many Thanks for your help guys.
