Trouble starting with Alpha N & MS
guys im having trouble getting the car to start by using Alpha N in MS. here are the tables im using,
the car isn't even trying to fire up its just cranking over, have reduced the cranking rpm to 200 from 300 to see if that would help but
nothing. im reading through the manual now but cant seem to find anything in there?
help......

Has it been started on the squirt at all?? Mines starts and after it gets onto the ve table after warm up enrichments etc. After that when I try to
tune it if it "falls off of the table it's a bugger to get started again untill it cools down. I think I need more bins around the 500 to
600 rpm area.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

i have had the car running on megasquirt but it was running spped density, the reason why im trying to run it on Alpha N is because i can't get
the MAP kpa below 90 at tick over, ive got it now so that it starts to try to fire but it doesn't seem to want to jump into tick over, the MS is
reading the cranking rpm and i've reduced the cranking rpm from 300 to 200 on the settings. are the tables roughly right?

MS does not use the ve table untill it has started and run on the cold start/warm up enrichments. I don't know for sure but I'd imagine
that your "reqd fuel" and start up/warm up values from speed density to alphaN would most likely have been the same values. Are thevalues
in the table you posted the sameish as the ve table you had in speed density??.
Looks like your at the same position as me in that you need to read and read and read more and more. IMHO the manual is very hard to follow as it
keeps jumping between various set ups you may/may not have. I reckon the best way is to open a word document and the read and cut/paste the bits that
are relevant to your setup and add your own notes at the same time.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

omega24v6,
i think that you are absolutely right, i've done so much reading over the past couple of days, with the weather being so rubbish i cant get the
car ouside to let it run so i can play with megasquirt!
im thinking now whether the car may have ran out of fuel, i only but 5 ltrs in and with it idling at 2000rpm and an AFR of 13:1 im guessing that its
guzzling a bit at the moment.
