Say you've done one and then get one booked.

Pistonheads are running a competition at the moment with regional and main finals, that's under £200 to enter and you might get 2 or 3 days out of that, if you win then your insurers really couldn't argue

What if you fitted a smaller engine such as a 1.1/1.3 just to get you driving. Then in 2yrs time swap the engine back in?

a 1.6 pinto would be the cheapest and simplest thing to fit but I dont have the time, money or inclination to do it.

I'm completely fed up of messing about with the thing if im honest!

Just wanted to actually get some enjoyment out of it.

Odd, pretty sure we're with 2gether and have just been re-quoted at £220 after one previous year.

Have they changed their policy or does one year class as 'experience' with such cars?

I'm 22 and dad is older than the sun (53). We were told it makes no difference who you were insured with as they go solely by they highest risk anyway...

I get my insurance from Backford Bloor. My renewal last month was £115 for 1500 miles for my 3.5 litre V8 Locost although this was a bit of a special deal just for me...

I'm 23 and with MSM on a 2.1 Pinto locost valued at 6k and paying ~£450 iirc.

The Fury was ~£600 with Adrian Flux when I was 21.

I too am with Frank Pickles, paying £120 for parts only and 7000 miles
Not sure if they cover younger drivers though, may be worth a try

Insurance quote for Mr Thomson

Hi ,

As discussed we could offer a TPFT rate no problems at a competitive rate.

We also had an offer for your father alone.

Thanks

Gary

Craig,

give some of these others a try and don't give up just yet. Might be worth considering the TPFT offer just to get it on the road for a year or two.......

ah thats a good list, thanks hellfire.

Gary, I'm waiting for a call back on the TPFT front - not frustrated with you, just at the amount of grief the car has given me!

Sounds like you're going to have to get Fire and Theft for now and make sure you don't crash it.

How are you supposed to get experience if they won't let you? I'd have told them that I've been driving it for years without insurance...
